Satya Art Gallery was established in 2014 by Navajivan Trust as part of an out-reach program with an objective to be more accessible and available for the youth of the city and the state.
One of the objectives of the gallery is to invite works by artists that otherwise would never come to Ahmedabad due to innumerable reasons, financial commitment being one of them. Satya Art Gallery has continued to invite works by prominent visual artists, especially photographers. Since inception, we have invited photographic works by Late Shri Ashwin Mehta, Late Shri Kishor Parekh, Shri Jyoti Bhatt, Late Shri Dashrath Patel, Navroze Contractor, Anuj Ambalal, Late Walter Bosshard, Vivek Desai, Prashant Panjiar, Shahidul Alam, Amit Dave, Anushree Fadnavis, Dhritiman Mukherjee, Varun Aditya to name a few.
Navajivan Trust, sole patron of Satya Art Gallery, is one of the institutions setup by Mahatma Gandhi. Navajivan Trust has been the forerunner in printing and distribution of Gandhian Literature ever since its inception in 1919. A more than century old institution has opened its doors through creating public spaces to embrace youth and creativity. At Navajivan Trust / Satya Art Gallery, we believe it is only through constant engagement and dialogue with the youth, can we further the mandate of the trust.

A simple, unassuming yet well proportioned space is best suited for exhibiting any form of art. Satya Art Gallery since its inception remains a curated space and is also available to rent. All applications to hire the gallery have to go through a vetting process before a decision to rent the gallery is made. To rent the gallery or to get work reviewed, artists are required to submit copy of selected works (10-15, Low Resolution, 2000 pixel on wider side), a brief statement about the work and artists bio-data via wetransfer / dropbox / email to rangjyot@navajivantrust.org.
Satya Art Gallery, apart from presenting works by artists we also undertake digitization, indexing and cataloging projects. We have digitized and cataloged photographic work and paintings by Late Shri Dashrath Patel.
